Find Out the Expiry Date of LPG Cylinders in India.

LPG gas is the most used cooking fuel in India and many other countries. It also being used at industries as gas cutting purpose in place of Dissolved Acetylene cylinders.

Unfortunately many of us not aware about the expiry of that Cylinders. Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and can cause fatal accidents.

Here we brief how you can check the expiry date of LPG cylinders:
On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically which starts with A, B, C or D followed by a two digit number as shown in figure.

       Codes are marked on both the domestic and industrial used cylinders.

The alphabets stand for quarters -

·         A for March (First Quarter),

·         B for June (Second Quarter),

·         C for Sept (Third Quarter),

·         D for December (Fourth Quarter).

The numerical digits stand for the year till it is valid.

Hence the code appear on marked place in figure B.13 would mean that cylinder was expired on JUNE’2013.
